Four years of corn-soybean data from the Dakota Lakes Research Farm (pH 7.7) show only about 45% of applied phosphorus carries over, and an 18 lb P2O5/acre starter band was the most profitable of three strategies at both $0.68 and $0.85 per pound and over 4- and 10-year horizons.
