1How to report an error
Write to news@theagronews.com with:
- the link to the story;
- what is wrong;
- what is right, with evidence or a source if you can.
2What we do
The desk checks the story against its source. For a story from another outlet, the original report is checked too; if the error is in the original, we correct ours and tell the outlet. Once an error is confirmed, the story is corrected promptly and the reader who reported it gets a reply.
3How corrections appear
- Factual errors (figures, names, places, dates, quotes): a dated correction note is added at the end of the story, saying what changed.
- Spelling, typing or small language errors: fixed without a note.
- A headline that gave the wrong meaning is changed too, and the note says so.
- A story that runs in both editions is corrected in both.
4Right of reply
People named in a story can send us their reply or objection. A reasonable reply is added to the story or published on its own.
5Requests to remove a story
An accurate story is not normally removed. We do consider a request where someone’s safety is at risk, for legal reasons, or where an old story does someone unfair harm. Send the link with your reasons.
6Copyright complaints
If you believe your writing, photograph or video is used on our sites without permission, write with the story’s link and proof that the work is yours. We will check it and either remove it or credit it on your terms.
