Make Watermelon Rind Pakora While It's Still Hot

The white part of watermelon rind, usually thrown away, can be turned into crisp pakoras that cut waste and make a new summer snack.

Fruits

Many of us eat watermelon to keep cool in hot weather. But the rind we throw away after eating the juicy red part can become a delicious snack. It may sound surprising, but watermelon rind can be made into tasty, crunchy pakoras.

If you want to cut waste and try something different, make watermelon rind pakoras this summer. They are simple, healthy and a completely new experience. Here is the recipe.

First remove the green skin and any remaining red flesh from the rind, then wash only the white part and chop it finely. In a large bowl, mix the chopped rind well with all the other ingredients except the oil.

Meanwhile, heat oil in a karai. When it is hot, drop in round pakoras from the mixture and fry on a low flame until brown. Once fried, drain off the oil and serve.
