STEYR returns to orchard and hop tractors with the Spezial F CVT

STEYR has launched the Spezial F CVT, a 100 to 120 hp range of compact tractors for orchards, hop gardens and other perennial crops that can carry auto-guidance, automated headland turns and a digital farm management link.

The Austrian tractor brand STEYR is returning to the specialty segment with the Spezial F CVT, a range of compact tractors built for orchards, hop gardens and other perennial high-value crops where narrow rows, slopes and precise work are the norm.

The range has three models with maximum outputs from 100 to 120 hp, powered by a 3.6-litre FPT engine with a reversible fan for dusty conditions and a 104-litre fuel tank. STEYR's S-Control CVT transmission is stepless, reaching a top speed of 50 km/h at 1,780 rpm, and a closed-centre load-sensing hydraulic system delivers 115 litres a minute so several operations can be run in one pass.

Unlike many tractors in this class, the Spezial F CVT can carry a full precision farming package: S-Guide auto-guidance, the Infomat 1200 touchscreen, EasyTronic II headland management, S-Turn automated row-end turning, an A1000 receiver and a link to the FieldOps digital farm management platform. Adaptive steering settings help in tight orchard rows.

For the operator, the cab is suspended, in-cab noise is put at 69 decibels, and Category 4 filtration protects the driver during spraying. A 12-LED lighting package and optional side and rear cameras help in early and late work.

"Specialty growers face unique challenges every day, from working in confined spaces and on difficult terrain to managing increasingly precise production requirements," said Alessio Quatraro of STEYR product marketing. The brand built its STEYR 80 series of specialty tractors in St. Valentin, Austria, between 1979 and 1997.
