A group of educated young agricultural entrepreneurs from Arani village in Bagha upazila, Rajshahi, has taken an unusual initiative to deliver farm information and organic fertiliser to rural people's doors.

Their integrated farming initiative is changing the calculation of farm production by protecting soil health. Thanks to these young men on motorcycles, farmers' eyes are being opened every day, and farmers who once lagged behind are finding success through the power of information and new messages about growing techniques.

Years of excessive chemical fertiliser and pesticide use had left farmland losing its strength. At that point, Kamrul Hasan Ripon and several other educated young people devoted to farming launched an organic farming drive to restore the life of the soil. Farmers now understand this too.

Everywhere, more or less, there is now a push to feed the soil, and that is changing the calculation of farm production across the area. Those involved hope the work will soon spread nationwide.
