Is a happy day complete without something sweet? Birthdays, weddings, entertaining guests or any small joyful moment all come with a little sweetness, and one of everyone's favourites is soft, syrupy gulab jamun. Instead of the trouble of buying it, you can make delicious gulab jamun at home with very simple ingredients. Here is the recipe.

First mix milk powder, flour, baking powder and ghee, then add 9-10 tablespoons of liquid milk and knead well. Shape the sweets to the size you like and fry them in oil over a medium flame. Take them out of the oil and leave them for 10 to 12 minutes.

Meanwhile, for the syrup, bring 2 cups of sugar and 4 cups of water to a good boil. Put the sweets, still lukewarm, into the boiling syrup. Cover and cook over a medium flame for 10 to 15 minutes. Finally add 1 cup of hot water, stir the sweets gently for a while, turn off the heat and leave for 2 hours. Your tasty gulab jamun is ready.
