Whether for an afternoon snack or a quick dinner, a restaurant-style creamy prawn pasta can be made with ordinary ingredients at home. Here is the recipe from Sarabangla's lifestyle pages, step by step.

Ingredients: 250 g pasta of any shape; 1 cup prawns, peeled and cleaned; 100 g grated cheese; 1 teaspoon chopped garlic; 1 finely chopped onion; 50 g mayonnaise; 2 tablespoons milk; half a teaspoon ground black pepper; 2 chopped green chillies; 1 teaspoon sugar; 1 tablespoon olive oil (soybean oil also works); salt to taste.

First boil the pasta: bring plenty of water to the boil with a little salt and a few drops of oil, and cook the pasta for 5 to 7 minutes. Drain it and spread it out in a wide dish; a rinse in a little cold water keeps the pieces from sticking together.

Then the sauce: heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion and garlic until lightly browned. Add the prawns, green chillies and salt and stir for about two minutes. When the prawns are lightly cooked, add the milk, pepper, mayonnaise, cheese and sugar and stir over medium heat into a thick, creamy sauce.

When the sauce has thickened, add the boiled pasta and toss over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes. As soon as sauce and pasta are well combined, take the pan off the heat and serve hot.
