Some of the pictures Prothom Alo's photographers took around Bangladesh on 14 October caught the day on its lakes, fields and wild edges. Here is what they show, in our own words.
In the Rubber Bagan area of Rangamati, a fisher casts a net into Kaptai Lake. At Lemuchhari in the same district, wild okra is in flower. Both pictures are by Supriyo Chakma.
At Sonadanga in Khulna, a honeybee gathers nectar from a sponge-gourd flower, the kind of pollination that keeps vegetable plots bearing (photo: Saddam Hossain). At Bartopa in Gazipur's Sreepur, a coppersmith barbet perches on a moringa branch (photo: Sadiq Mridha).
Near the Shahjalal bridge in Sylhet, plastic drums for storing paddy, rice and water are carried off to be sold (photo: Anis Mahmud). At Dhangara in Sirajganj's Raiganj, the setting sun turns the Phuljhor river red (photo: Sajedul Alam, 13 October).
At Joutha Khamar Marmapara in Khagrachhari, dantranga flowers bloom by the roadside (photo: Jayanti Dewan), and at Shibbari in Sylhet a butterfly spreads its wings on a leaf in the morning sun (photo: Anis Mahmud). The day's other pictures, of children playing danguli and a van driver, are not included here.
