The joy of Eid is not over yet, and homes are still busy entertaining guests. After eating the same spicy beef every day, many people look for a different taste. This time you could try cooking beef without oil. Cooked this way, the meat is light and healthy, and it gives a completely different experience in taste too.

Here is how to cook beef without oil.

Wash the meat very well and drain the water. In a large bowl, mix the meat thoroughly with chopped onion, sour yoghurt and all the ground and powdered spices. To tenderise the meat, add raw papaya paste and marinate for at least 30 minutes. At this stage the meat will begin to become tender and tasty from within.

Now put the marinated meat in a pot on the stove. No oil is needed. Cook covered over medium heat. The meat will release its own water; slowly cook the spices down in that liquid. When the meat is well browned and the water has dried up, add a little hot water. Cover again and leave to cook gently over medium to low heat. Cooked slowly like this, the meat will become very tender. Once it is fully cooked and the gravy is thick and clinging, sprinkle garam masala powder on top, take it off the heat and serve.
