Monjurul Islam Liton, a lecturer at Bagatipara Government Degree College in Natore, has planted more than a hundred saplings in Bagatipara to mark his wedding anniversary.

With help from students, he planted fruit and timber trees along both sides of roads on Sunday, 16 October, in various parts of Jamnagar union of the upazila.

Liton said he planted the trees to make his wedding anniversary memorable, and wants to keep doing so for as long as he lives.

He married Sima Khatun, an assistant teacher at Jamnagar Government Primary School in the upazila, two years ago. He also planted more than a hundred saplings on their first wedding anniversary.
