TractorNext, a digital platform for farm mechanisation and rural equipment, has been launched in India to help farmers, rural entrepreneurs and other buyers choose machinery, AgroSpectrum reported. It was unveiled by G. S. Grewal, president of the Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA), at an industry gathering in Pune.
The platform brings together product information, comparison tools and access to expertise in one place, so that buyers can judge equipment on suitability, performance, technology, running costs and long-term value. "Today, farmers have more options than ever before, but selecting the right technology for their specific needs remains a challenge," Grewal said, adding that mechanisation must help farmers improve productivity, efficiency and profitability.
Founder and chief executive Vishnu Dhas said buying an agricultural drone, a tractor, an implement, a bulldozer or specialised equipment is a large investment, and that TractorNext wants to be a trusted source of information so buyers understand their options. The company also plans to give equipment makers and suppliers digital visibility and regional outreach, combining product discovery with local-language communication.
The launch event drew representatives of farm machinery makers, equipment distributors and agritech firms. AgroSpectrum's report did not give figures on the number of listed products, users or prices for the service.
