Green mangoes are plentiful in the market now, and they have many health benefits. This summer fruit contains vitamin C and several other vitamins and minerals.

Mango lovers are already making all kinds of green mango dishes. For a little relief in the intense heat, try aam pora sharbat, a drink made from roasted green mango. Once you taste it, the flavour will stay with you. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 green mangoes
  • Sugar or jaggery to taste
  • Black salt
  • Green chilli
  • Crushed ice

Method

First roast the mangoes with their skins on. When they have cooled, peel them; you will find the flesh inside has turned soft. Now put sugar, black salt and green chilli to taste in a bowl.

Mix everything well with the mango and blend it in a blender. Then add crushed ice and blend again. You can also scatter crushed ice on top when serving, and your roasted mango sharbat is ready.
