A holiday afternoon means looking for a different taste, a light chat and something fun to eat. You can make the time more colourful with sour and spicy raw mango bhelpuri.

With its mix of hot, sour and crunchy flavours, this dish makes the mouth water and quickly takes away the tiredness of the heat. It can be made at home with a few simple ingredients. Here is an easy recipe.

First mix all the ingredients for the bhelpuri together into a smooth dough. Cover it and leave it for about 10 minutes. Once the dough has rested, roll it out like a roti and cut it into bhelpuri shapes. Deep-fry them in hot oil until golden and crisp, then set aside.

Meanwhile, mix the ingredients for the mango sauce together to make a light, thin sour sauce. Then mix boiled potato with salt and chilli powder.

To serve, first spread the potato mixture over the fried puris. Then top with chopped cucumber, chopped raw mango, green chillies, chaat masala and chopped onion. Finally pour the mango sauce over the top and serve.
