Pomegranate Kheer

A simple recipe for pomegranate kheer, a sweet dessert made with pomegranate paste, milk and condensed milk.

Almost everyone loves pomegranate, and pomegranate juice in particular is a favourite. It has many health benefits too. But if you like, you can also make pomegranate kheer.

Its taste will stay with you after a single try. Pomegranate kheer is a good choice to sweeten the mouth or to end a meal. So let's learn how to make it.

Ingredients


  • Pomegranates, 3
  • Milk, half a litre
  • Milk powder, half a cup
  • Condensed milk, 1/4 cup
  • Cinnamon powder, half a teaspoon
  • Cherries and almonds, as needed

Method


Remove the pomegranate seeds and grind them to a smooth paste in a grinder. Dissolve the milk powder in a little milk. Bring the milk to the boil in a saucepan, then lower the heat, stirring constantly. When the milk has reduced by half, add the dissolved milk powder and keep stirring.

Now add the condensed milk and the pomegranate paste, stirring constantly. When it thickens, stir in the cinnamon powder and take it off the heat. Garnish with cherries, pomegranate seeds or almonds and serve.
