Police officer Manzur Kader Khan has built a farm on residential plots, growing various fruits and crops on two pieces of land in the capital's 300 Feet and Purbachal areas. Besides meeting family nutritional needs, the farm has become the centre of his peace of mind.
Collecting seedlings on the job
Deputy Inspector General of Police Manzur Kader Khan has loved farming for a long time. Wherever his job takes him, he looks for new fruit and crop seedlings and seeds. When he was allotted a plot in the police officers' residential area at 300 Feet, he started farming there, and the small plot has become a gathering of fruits and crops.
A second garden in Purbachal
A short distance away, on another plot in the Purbachal residential project, he has built a rich garden with various mangoes, jamun, jackfruit, guava, banana, pineapple and other local and foreign fruit trees.
He says farming is now very easy for anyone; all it takes is sincerity.
