Healthy Papaya and Beef for the Sehri Table

Beef cooked with fresh papaya is a nutritious, light and easily digested dish suited to the sehri table in Ramadan.

Livestock

For many people, sehri is the first big meal of the day during the fast, so it is especially important to have nutritious, light and easily digested dishes. Beef cooked with fresh papaya is just such a recipe, bringing health, flavour and tenderness to the sehri table.

The natural enzymes in papaya make beef soft and juicy, while the protein in the meat and the vitamins in papaya give the body energy for a long time after sehri. The recipe is not only tasty but healthy too, and well suited to Ramadan.

First clean and wash the meat and coat it well with all the spices. Put a little oil in a pot, add the meat and fry it well over a low flame. Once it is well fried, add the papaya. Cover and simmer over a low flame, opening the lid now and then to stir so the meat does not stick. When the meat and papaya are cooked through, take the pot off the heat, and the papaya beef is ready.
