Md Aminul Islam, a young Islamic scholar (alem), has been honoured as the best successful young entrepreneur in Madan upazila, Netrokona, on National Youth Day 2026, in recognition of his farm enterprise and self-employment work alongside teaching. He is director of the Najah Duck Farm and Hatchery, run under the supervision of the upazila administration.

He received the award on Sunday morning at a discussion and prize-giving held in the Madan upazila parishad hall by the upazila administration and the Department of Youth Development. This year's theme was "Skilled youth will build the nation, Bangladesh for all". Upazila nirbahi officer MA Kader presided.

Aminul Islam is a senior teacher at Darul Azhar Model Madrasa in Sector 4, Uttara, Dhaka. Alongside teaching he has built up the duck farm and hatchery, which the report says has become a model of self-employment for jobless young people in the Madan area.

Madan's upazila youth development officer said he was chosen as this year's best young entrepreneur for his bold and innovative step into farming as an alem and for his contribution to education, and that his success would inspire other young people.

Receiving the award, Aminul Islam said the honour belonged not to him alone but to all of Madan's hard-working and enterprising young people. He had wanted to show that Islamic scholars, too, can play a strong part in the country's economic progress through practical enterprise.

The report is by Amar Desh's Madan (Netrokona) upazila correspondent.
