The 31st National Hifzul Quran Competition 2026 was held on Wednesday (14 October) at Jamia Siddiquia Qawmia Madrasah in Bagerhat Sadar upazila, organised by Huffazul Quran Foundation Bangladesh.

The organisers said the competition aims to encourage students to memorise the Quran, promote correct recitation and inspire the younger generation to pursue Islamic education.

Maulana Manfuzur Rahman, convener of the Bagerhat district branch of the National Imam and Khatib Organisation of Bangladesh, was chief guest, and Maulana Amirul Islam Siddiqui, director of the madrasah, was special guest. Hafez Qari Mizanur Rahman, president of the foundation's Bagerhat district branch, presided.

Hafez Abdul Hakim, president of the foundation's Bagerhat Sadar upazila branch, and its general secretary Hafez Qari Abu Hurayrah helped organise the event. The organisers said they hoped the national competition would strengthen students' interest in memorising the Quran and help spread its teachings across society.
