The Ministry of Religious Affairs has signed a contract with Al-Bait Guests Company, a Saudi service provider, to cover accommodation, food, transport and services at the Mashaer (Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah) for Bangladeshi pilgrims who go on Hajj under government management.
The signing in Saudi Arabia was attended by State Minister for Religious Affairs Mohammad Shamim Kaiser, Religious Affairs Secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, Counsellor (Hajj) Mohammad Kamrul Islam, the Consul (Hajj) and ministry officials, along with representatives of Al-Bait Guests.
Under the contract, housing in Makkah and Madinah, good-quality meals, internal transport and supplies and management at Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah are to be provided in a coordinated way, with emphasis on keeping up the standard of tents, food and travel on the key days of Hajj.
There are plans for technology-based monitoring of luggage handling, tents and related services. The aims are better service, accountability and easier access to services for pilgrims.
Mohammad Shamim Kaiser, who led the delegation on housing for government pilgrims, said he hoped Al-Bait Guests would, as in the past, provide smooth, comfortable and hygienic services for Hajj 2027. The report is by M Y Alauddin of Desh Rupantor.
