Try Mango Posset Before the Season Ends

Before the mango season ends, ripe mangoes can be turned into mango posset, a creamy dessert made with just a few ingredients.

Fruits

Summer means the season of juicy mangoes. Before the season ends, you can use ripe mangoes to make a dessert with a different taste: mango posset. Made with only a few ingredients, this creamy, smooth, melt-in-the-mouth sweet looks attractive and tastes wonderful.

Mango posset is easy to serve when guests come or to celebrate a special moment with the family. Here is how to make it.

First peel the mangoes, remove the stones and blend the flesh into a smooth puree. Heat cream and sugar in a saucepan over a medium flame. When the sugar has fully melted and the mixture comes to the boil, take it off the heat. Now add the mango puree, lemon juice and lemon zest to the cream mixture and mix well.

Strain the mixture through a sieve into small glasses or dessert bowls. Once it has cooled to room temperature, leave it in the fridge overnight to set. When it is firmly set, decorate the top with small pieces of mango and a little lemon zest and serve chilled.
