In this heat a glass of iced tea keeps the body cool and fresh. It does more than quench thirst: iced tea refreshes the body from within, reduces tiredness and lifts the mood. Besides milk tea, iced tea made with green tea, herbal tea, tulsi or mint has become a popular trend. But have you ever tried lychee iced tea? The sweet drink is very pleasant on hot days, and it is easy to make at home. Here is how.

First steep tea leaves or a tea bag in hot water for 5 to 10 minutes, covered, so that the colour and flavour come out well. Strain the tea, let it cool to room temperature, then chill it further in the fridge.

Next, take fresh lychees with the seeds removed and blend them well with a little water to make lychee juice or purée. Put crushed ice in a glass, add the chilled tea, the lychee juice and honey, and stir well. Garnish with whole lychees, lemon slices and mint leaves and serve.
