Several of the pictures Prothom Alo's photographers took across the country on 18 October show fields, water and the natural world. Here is what they show, in our own words.

At Ramkantapur in Faridpur, farmers are sowing maize seed (photo: Alimuzzaman). At Chhilimpur in Rangpur, bitter gourd is picked and sold right there in the field (photo: Moinul Islam).

At Jabusa in Rupsha, Khulna, egrets gather at water standing beside a paddy field (photo: Saddam Hossain). At Noyadda in Daudkandi, Cumilla, a child is delighted with a fish caught on a hook and line (photo: Abdur Rahman Dhali).

At Mountaineering Valley in Rangamati, the sky turns gold at sunrise, and elsewhere in the district people cross a bamboo-and-timber bridge at some risk (photos: Supriyo Chakma). At Tamai Fakirpara in Belkuchi, Sirajganj, frangipani is in bloom (photo: Ariful Gani).

At Domdoma in Rangpur, traffic moves along the highway through a light late-autumn morning mist (photo: Moinul Islam). Two pictures of puja pavilions from the day's set are not included here.
