Peyaju is an inseparable part of the iftar table during Ramadan, but eating the same peyaju every day can become monotonous. What if a little variety could be found within the familiar taste? Crispy potato French fries combined with hot, spicy peyaju make an entirely new dish: French fry peyaju.

Crisp outside and soft and fragrant inside, this novel dish can bring a surprise to the iftar plate. Try this unusual recipe at iftar and delight the whole family.

First, wash the lentils and soak them for two hours. When they have swollen, drain the water and grind them or blend them, making sure the paste is not too fine. Meanwhile, chop the onions and green chillies. Then mix all the spices into the lentil paste thoroughly.

Now peel the potatoes and cut them into thin, long strips. Parboil them with a little salt. Finally, coat the potatoes in the lentil mixture and deep-fry them in oil. The crispy French fry peyaju is ready.
