Try Beef Korma This Eid

Tender and fragrant beef korma brings something special to the Eid table, and can be made at home for guests or family.

Crops

The Qurbani Eid means joy, family and plenty of delicious food, and one of the main attractions is the variety of beef dishes. Among them, tender beef korma, rich with gravy and the aroma of spices, adds something special to the Eid table.

Whether you are entertaining guests or sharing a special moment with family, a home-made beef korma this Qurbani Eid could be the best taste of your festival.

Marinating

First cut the beef into small pieces, wash well and drain. In a bowl, mix the meat with yoghurt, onion paste, ginger-garlic paste, cumin paste, the whole garam masala spices, salt to taste, slit green chillies and a quarter of a cup of oil, and leave to marinate for at least two hours.

Cooking

Put a pot on the stove and cook the marinated meat, stirring well. It is best not to add extra water, though if it dries out you can add a little hot water. Take care that the meat does not stick to the bottom of the pot.

In another pan, heat half a cup of oil and fry sliced onions until brown to make beresta (fried onions). Lift out the beresta, then add the cooked meat to the same oil and fry for a while. Add a little water as needed to make a gravy.

When the gravy comes to the boil, add the fried onions, sugar, ghee and three or four whole green chillies and cook on low heat. When the oil rises to the top, take it off the heat. This korma is delicious with pulao, hot rice or paratha.
