Albaugh India Private Limited has launched TANDEM, which the company says is its first patented fungicide in India. It is registered for use in paddy.
The product contains carbendazim 11.57% and tebuconazole 11.57% w/w as a suspension concentrate, combining two active ingredients with different modes of action. Carbendazim, in FRAC Group 1, interferes with fungal cell division, while tebuconazole, a triazole, blocks ergosterol biosynthesis and so the development of the fungal cell membrane. Together they are meant to give broad-spectrum control of fungal diseases.
Albaugh recommends a foliar spray in paddy at 320 mL per acre, mixed with 200 litres of water per acre.
"With its dual mode of action, TANDEM delivers effective broad-spectrum fungal disease management, enabling growers to achieve improved crop productivity," said Gopesh Pant, India head of commercial and strategic marketing at Albaugh India.
