Winter Vegetable Pakoras for a Cold Afternoon Chat

Crisp pakoras made with fresh winter vegetables bring taste and nutrition together for a cold afternoon over tea.

Crops

A winter afternoon means a little extra comfort, a steaming cup of tea and a lively chat with loved ones. To make that chilly time even more enjoyable, you want something that lifts the mood at once, and that is when crisp pakoras become hard to resist. If the pakoras are made with fresh winter vegetables, you get both taste and nutrition together.

Cauliflower, cabbage, carrots or spinach, the vegetables filling the markets, can be used to make crisp, tasty pakoras at home that make a cold afternoon chat warmer and livelier. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients

  • Various winter vegetables, as needed
  • 1 egg
  • half a cup of flour
  • green chillies to taste
  • 2 potatoes
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

Method

First wash the vegetables and chop them finely. In a bowl, mix the chopped vegetables, egg, flour, green chillies, potato and salt well and set aside for a while. Heat oil in a pan, shape the vegetable mixture into small balls and fry them. When they turn brown, take them out. The crisp pakoras are ready.
