Just as the rivers of this world sustain human life, livelihoods and nature, the rivers of Paradise are described in the Quran as a source of joy and peace for believers, though the blessings of Paradise cannot be fully compared with anything in this world.

Verse 15 of Surah Muhammad says the Paradise promised to the righteous has rivers of pure water, rivers of milk whose taste never changes, rivers of a drink delicious to those who drink it, and rivers of purified honey, along with every kind of fruit and forgiveness from their Lord.

Water in this world can become dirty, foul-smelling or change in taste, but the rivers of water in Paradise will be pure. Milk in this world loses its taste after a while; the milk of Paradise will never change.

The drink named in the verse is unlike the wine of this world, which clouds reason and causes harm; the drink of Paradise will be pleasant and bring no headache or ill effect. The rivers of purified honey will likewise be free of any impurity.

The end of the verse mentions every kind of fruit and God's forgiveness, showing that the blessings of Paradise are not limited to food and drink. The article says these descriptions remind believers of the hereafter and urge them to seek God's pleasure through good deeds and piety.
