Friday is the best day of the week. The Holy Quran and hadith describe many good deeds for Friday, and reciting Surah Al-Kahf is one of them. Some of its virtues are set out below.

Bara bin Azeb (RA) narrated that a man was reciting Surah Al-Kahf (in prayer) when an animal in the house began to jump about. He then ended with the salam, and a mist or a piece of cloud covered him. Bara bin Azib (RA) narrated that he told the Prophet (PBUH) about it, and the Prophet addressed him, saying: "O so-and-so, recite the surah, for this was the mercy or tranquillity of Allah that descended because of the recitation of the Quran." (Sahih Bukhari, hadith 3614; Sahih Muslim: 795)

Abu Darda (RA) narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Whoever memorises the first 10 verses of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the trial of Dajjal." (Sahih Muslim, hadith 809)

Another narration says: "Whoever reads the last 10 verses of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the trial of Dajjal." (Musnad Ahmad, 446/6)

Another narration says: "Whoever reads 10 verses of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the trial of Dajjal." (Tirmidhi, hadith 2886)

Muaz (RA) narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Whoever recites the beginning and end of Surah Al-Kahf will have light shining from beneath his feet to his head. And whoever recites the whole surah will have light shining for him from the heavens to the earth." (Musnad Ahmad, 439/3)

Ibn Umar (RA) narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, light will shine from beneath his feet to the sky, which will be bright for him on the Day of Judgement, and all his sins between the two Fridays will be forgiven." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, vol 6, p 398)

Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said that whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday will have light shining for him until the next Friday. (Sunan Darimi, hadith 3407)
