Fresh peas are easy to find in the winter market, and they can bring new flavour to many dishes. But have you ever thought of making kebabs with peas? Ordinary peas can be turned into kebabs with an extraordinary taste.

Kebabs are not only about fish or meat; tasty kebabs can be made with peas too. If you want something savoury and light in the evening, try pea kebabs as a snack for a change. Here is how to make them.

Ingredients

  • Peas: 2 cups
  • Chopped onion: 2 teaspoons
  • Chilli powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger paste: 1 teaspoon
  • Gram flour (besan): 2 tablespoons
  • Kebab masala: 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped green chillies: 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped coriander leaves: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as needed

Method

First shell the peas and blend them with the coriander leaves. Add the chopped onion, ginger paste, kebab masala and the other ground spices to the pea paste and knead well into a dough. Make sure the dough is neither too soft nor too firm.

Take small portions of the pea mixture and shape them into kebabs. Heat oil in a pan and fry the kebabs until golden on both sides. Serve with tomato sauce or mint chutney.
