Foods to Avoid Right After Eating Papaya

Papaya is healthy, but a few foods should not be eaten with it or straight after it.

Fruits

Papaya is a very tasty fruit and also very good for the body. It contains various vitamins, protein, fibre and carbohydrates, and is a remedy for many ailments.

Nutritionists advise keeping papaya in the daily diet. But for some people papaya is not healthy at all and can do harm rather than good. For example, eating papaya increases the risk of miscarriage in pregnant women.

In the same way, doctors advise against eating a few foods with papaya, as it can backfire. Here are the foods not to eat with papaya.

Papaya and yoghurt

Eating papaya and yoghurt together can cause indigestion, stomach trouble, nausea and other problems. Wait at least four hours after eating papaya before having yoghurt.

Lemon

Never mix lemon with papaya. Eating the two fruits together can lower the body's haemoglobin level and can also cause stomach problems. Many people sprinkle lemon juice on ripe papaya; it may taste good, but the habit can be dangerous for the body.

Tomato

Never eat tomato with papaya or straight after it. Both are healthy, but together they can cause trouble, including stomach problems. To avoid any illness, never eat the two together.
