The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) has warned of flooding in riverside low-lying areas of two districts. The information was given in a warning the centre issued on 15 July.

The warning said low-lying areas along the Manu and Khowai rivers in Moulvibazar and Habiganj districts may be temporarily flooded over the next 24 hours.

At the same time, the flood situation in riverside low-lying areas of Sylhet, Sunamganj and Netrokona districts may improve. Water is also likely to recede and the flood situation to improve in low-lying areas along the Teesta in Gaibandha district.

Rivers are currently flowing above danger level at three stations: the Teesta at Tarapur point in Gaibandha, the Kushiyara at Fenchuganj point in Sylhet and the Someshwari at Kalmakanda point in Netrokona.
