The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind in all eight divisions, and says a low may form over the north Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas within 48 hours. The forecast covers the 120 hours from 6pm on Sunday.

The well-marked low over Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas may move north-northwest and weaken, the department said. The monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over the north Bay.

On Monday rain is likely in some places in Chattogram and Barishal divisions and one or two places elsewhere, with moderately heavy falls in parts of Chattogram division. Rain is also forecast on Tuesday in Chattogram, Barishal and Sylhet, again with moderately heavy falls in places in Chattogram, and in various divisions on Wednesday and Thursday.

The highest temperature in the past 24 hours was 35.5C in Dhaka, Chandpur, Feni and Khulna, and the lowest on Sunday was 24C in Narayanganj and Sandwip.
