Massey Ferguson has added a new tractor series, the 7S Mark 2: six models from 170 to 245hp that sit between the existing 7S and the larger 8S Xtra rather than replacing either. "It's not the evolution of the MF 7S, and it's not replacing any existing model," said Marco Lombardi, the company's sales director for Europe and the Middle East.
The tractors pair AGCO Power's six-cylinder, 7.5-litre Core75 engine, developed for Fendt's 700 Vario Gen7, with the ML180 Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission from the 700 Vario Gen6. Top speed is 57km/h, and an automatic parking brake, a four-speed power take-off and hydraulics delivering up to 190 litres a minute are standard.
The cab is a redesigned version of the MF 8S cab, with 3.4 cubic metres of space, 6.6 square metres of glass and a 15cm gap between cab and engine to cut noise, vibration and heat. A new Datatronic 6 terminal with a 12-inch touchscreen, twice the size of its predecessor, shows maps, data management and guidance, and up to four cameras can be fitted.
The series will be the first to come from the factory with PTx's FarmENGAGE system, operations management software that works with machinery of all brands. Through built-in telemetry it transfers machine, field, cropping and task data wirelessly, or by USB and the cloud, for management and monitoring.
Production begins in the first quarter of 2027 and the first deliveries are due in spring 2027. The tractor makes its public debut at the EIMA farm machinery show in Bologna, Italy, from 10 to 14 November 2026. The picture shows the existing MF 7S, which the new series sits alongside.
