With so much adulteration, buying pure ghee from the market is difficult, so many people look for ways to make it at home. Ghee is also good for keeping skin glowing and boosting immunity. Instead of eating adulterated ghee, make pure ghee at home using a few simple methods.
Five steps to homemade ghee
- Heat about 2 litres of milk. When it comes to a slight boil, skim the cream off the top into a separate container. Repeat this for four or five days in a row until the container is full. During this time, keep the container in the fridge to avoid fungus.
- Once the container is full, bring it to room temperature. Then add two spoons of yoghurt and leave the container overnight.
- Next, pour the mixture into a blender and fill it with cold water. The cold water is used to separate the fat from the cream; ice cubes can also be used. Blend the mixture well.
- Then separate the butter left in the blender from the buttermilk. Keep in mind that the milk must be cleaned off completely.
- Heat the butter over a low flame, stirring it continuously in the pan for 15 minutes. It will melt and turn into ghee. Take it off the heat and let the liquid cool for 1 to 2 minutes. Strain it into a good container and your homemade ghee is ready.
