The fruits that help clear toxins built up in the liver

A handful of fruits and foods eaten regularly can help flush toxins from the liver, according to a report citing ABP News.

Crops

The liver is one of the body's most important organs. Its digestive juices help us digest the food in our stomach, but once fat starts to build up in the liver those juices are not secreted properly, and food is not digested as it should be.

Besides fatty liver, many people now suffer from various other liver diseases, raising the risk of liver failure. Whether or not a person has fatty liver, toxins can build up in the liver at any time and reduce how well it works.

Eating certain fruits and foods regularly helps flush these toxins out and lets the liver recover.

Five fruits for the liver

Apples contain pectin fibre, which washes harmful toxins out of the liver so that it can start working normally again.

Almonds contain an amino acid called arginine as well as omega-3 fatty acids. Together, the two help drive toxins out of the liver.

Grapes contain vitamin C on the one hand and antioxidants on the other. Together they clear toxins from the liver, and they also stimulate the liver to produce digestive juices.

Lemons are packed with vitamin C and antioxidants, and also contain micronutrients that benefit the liver. Lemon helps remove toxic substances that have built up in the liver.

Papaya contains a range of vitamins as well as several enzymes that belong to the peptide enzyme group, making them akin to digestive juices. That makes papaya very good for the liver, and raw papaya is more beneficial than cooked.

Other foods listed as helpful are coffee, green leafy vegetables, garlic, carrots, grapes and turmeric.
