Lalbagh thana Chhatra Dal held a tree-planting programme to mark the founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Trees were planted at various places in the Lalbagh area on Tuesday (2 September) under the leadership of Nesar Uddin Rabbi, member secretary of the thana Chhatra Dal.

Present were Lalbagh thana Chhatra Dal senior joint convener Shafiqul Islam Rubel, joint convener Arafat Hossain Emon, Kazi Faiyad Hossain Amit and Abdus Samad of ward 23, Milon Ahmed and Sarowar Hossain Jihad of ward 26, Sumon Fakir Sakib and Zobayer Abdullah of ward 25, and Emon Hossain and Tamim Ahmed of ward 24, along with leaders at various levels.

Nesar Uddin Rabbi said: "We are in politics for the country, and the BNP always does politics for the welfare of the country. So on this founding anniversary of the BNP we have planted trees that benefit people."

He said: "We will do politics for the welfare of the country and its people. Inshallah, as long as we live we will keep working for the people."
