A bird that belongs in the sky is lying injured in front of the National Press Club. It is a black kite, found on a light stand next to the Press Club gate.

People visiting the Press Club have been coming to look at the injured kite. Some take photographs, some stroke it. The bird sits with its head bowed, and someone even offered it a banana.

Looking closer, the kite was seen standing with one leg folded in pain, resting its weight on the other. People nearby said it had fallen from a huge shirish (rain) tree next to the motorbike parking area.

A person who lives around the Press Club said the kite fell from the tree after a storm last night. Having hurt one leg, it could not fly away. When crows came to attack it, it was placed on top of the light stand.

Santosh, a cobbler working inside the Press Club, said the kite fell in last night's storm and the crows pecked at it a great deal. Cleaners later rescued it and put it on the stand.
