Fruits That Make Up for Vitamin and Mineral Deficiencies

Vitamins and minerals are vital for the body, and some everyday fruits can help make up any shortfall.

Vitamins and minerals are among the most essential elements for the human body. A lack of them causes nutritional deficiencies in our bodies.

We should all become aware before health problems arise. Vitamins and minerals play an important role in boosting immunity in everyone from children to adults, and some easily available fruits can make up for shortages of both. Here are those fruits.

Five fruits

Orange: during the coronavirus pandemic, boosting immunity has been given the most importance, and people have been advised to eat more vitamin C. That is why the popularity of oranges has grown a lot over the past year. The vitamin C in oranges boosts our immunity. Oranges are also full of vitamin C and folate, and can perfectly make up a daily nutritional shortfall.

Pomegranate: pomegranate is full of vitamins C, A and E, so it can supply much of the body's vitamin shortfall. The red seeds also help raise iron levels in the body. Every 100 grams can contain up to 0.3 milligrams of iron, and this iron-rich fruit is very effective against anaemia.

Banana: banana is such a familiar fruit that you can find it anywhere in the country, and it can satisfy hunger instantly. Because this sweet fruit is high in potassium, vitamin B and folate, it is called a superfood. It also helps keep blood glucose levels steady.

Apple: the apple is famous as a nutritious fruit. It is a good source of iron and very effective in raising haemoglobin levels. It is very beneficial for anaemia patients, and because it is low in sugar it is also good for diabetic patients.

Strawberry: this fruit is not very common in Bangladesh, but it is still a very good source of vitamins and minerals, and it is now being grown widely in the country. It contains plenty of iron and vitamin C, which work very effectively to make up nutritional shortfalls in our bodies.
