Sixteen saplings were planted at the Foreign Service Academy premises in tribute to the memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, as part of the programmes for the month of mourning, August.

The saplings were planted at 11am on Tuesday, 1 August. Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and ministry officials took part.

The foreign minister said: "Today we have planted a tree in the name of every member of Bangabandhu's family. My colleagues and I planted them. This is a historic place. Bangabandhu walked here and had his office here. We have made it into a museum. We hope school and college students will come here and learn what Bangabandhu did. We will keep it open two days a week."
