Ten active members of a gang of robbers who stripped cattle traders of everything they had in the capital's airport area have been arrested.

Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police arrested them in raids in different parts of the capital on Saturday (22 June). DB chief Mohammad Harun Or Rashid confirmed the arrests.

He said the cattle traders were returning after selling animals at a sacrificial animal market for Eid. In the airport area the robbers got them onto a passenger bus and took everything they had. Ten active members of the gang have been arrested.

Further details were to be given at a press conference on Sunday afternoon (23 June).
