Doctors tell people to stay away from beef and mutton, so they are forced to turn to chicken. But finding so many chickens every day is difficult, so "broiler chickens" are bred artificially and sold in the market. Meanwhile, some Indian media outlets have reported on the harmful side of broiler chicken. What, then, are people to eat?
According to the report, chicken meat contains plenty of protein and vitamins A, B and D. To fatten broilers in a short time, they are given synthetic hormones, which disrupt human fertility. Moreover, broiler chicken has to be cooked at a high temperature, which produces a carcinogenic substance that can cause cancer in the human body.
Arsenic and antibiotics
The source says arsenic is given to broiler chickens to keep them healthy. But this chemical is not at all safe for the human body and can cause diabetes, neurological problems and cancer.
Broiler chicken is very low in fibre but high in calories, which can lead to weight gain. The report also links the antibiotics in broilers to the effect of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the human body.
Because these chickens carry large amounts of antibiotics, they are very harmful to the human brain and can also cause neurological problems.
Such chickens are raised only to be eaten. They do not lay eggs, and they grow up within 10 to 12 weeks before being sold in the poultry market. How healthy, then, can this chicken really be?
