Local people have rescued a spotted deer that strayed into a village in Lalmohan, Bhola. The deer weighs about 25 kilograms. It was rescued from Chatla village in the upazila's Dhali Gournagar union on Wednesday (2 February) morning.

Md Aminul Islam, wildlife and biodiversity conservation officer of the Bhola forest department, said the deer lost its way while searching for food and fresh water and entered the village. When it saw local people there, it jumped into a pond. Locals then pulled the deer out of the pond and informed the forest department.

He said the forest department took charge of the deer after being informed. It was released into the mangrove forest of Char Urol in the Shashiganj beat of Tazumuddin upazila.
