The forest department has released a sick eagle in Bhola after giving it first aid. The bird was released into a dense keora forest in Char Manika union of Char Fasson upazila at around 4pm on Sunday (17 October), Ashish Kumar Dey, the forest department's range officer in Lalmohan upazila, confirmed.

He said that on Friday (15 October) a man named Morshed Alam of Chowmuhani village in Ramaganj union of Lalmohan upazila found the eagle lying sick in a beel in the Mujibnagar area, between Ramaganj union and Aslampur union of Char Fasson upazila, and rescued it. On hearing the news, the forest department took the bird and gave it first aid, and released it once it had recovered.

Bhola's wildlife and biodiversity conservation officer Md Aminul Islam told Jagonews that the rescued bird is a grey-headed eagle (methho mathar eagle). It stands one to one and a half feet tall and is about 8-10 years old. It is thought that the eagle fell ill after coming to the area in search of food. It was released after it recovered with first aid.
