The forest department has released a deer fawn that was swept in by tidal water in Bhola.

The fawn was released into the deep forest of Basan Bhanga char in Tazumuddin upazila of Bhola at around 11am on Monday (4 October).

Md Mazharul Amin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Borhanuddin police station, told Jago News that local fishermen saw the fawn floating in the Meghna river in Ward 1 of Hasan Nagar union, Borhanuddin upazila, around noon on Sunday (3 October). They rescued it and informed the local chowkidar, Md Mizan, into whose hands the fawn was given. Mizan then informed the police station, and the fawn was recovered and handed over to the forest department.

Md Alauddin, range officer of the Bhola forest department, told Jago News that the fawn had been released into the deep forest of Basan Bhanga char. It is about two months old and in good health.

He added that the fawn is thought to have been washed away after tidal water entered the place where it had been.
