Students are planting trees on the road divider of Pragati Sarani in Middle Badda in the capital. They are planting about 300 trees on the divider, with help from local residents.

On Sunday (11 August) afternoon, students were seen planting trees of various species on the divider from Badda Link Road to North Badda, with one tree about every five feet. Several local residents of Middle Badda were helping them.

Rajib Ud Doula, a house owner in Middle Badda, was helping the students together with four local people. He told Jago News that his house is on Pragati Sarani and that he plants trees in the empty spaces of the divider whenever he gets time. He pointed out several banyan and debdaru trees that he said he had planted.

"This afternoon the students took the initiative to plant trees on the road divider. Seeing their initiative, I could not sit at home. I came with a crowbar and people to help the students," he said.

Md Al-Amin, a student of Southeast University, was controlling traffic in Middle Badda and also checking that the trees were planted properly. "Today we collected 300 trees from the Botanical Garden. They will be planted along Pragati Sarani. We thank the local people for helping us in this work," he said.
