Both milk and meat production have changed the country's livestock picture. Alongside farmers and small producers, educated young people and investors at various levels have joined the sector, focusing on diversifying value and moving the industry forward.

A cowshed with a cow or two bulls was a familiar village scene, and it has not disappeared. But educated, aware city people have added commercial farms, where improved dairy cows provide surprising and hopeful figures.

Progress in improved beef breeds is also remarkable. Local crossbreds or Brahman are not the last word; there are many more breeds, and several local breeds are also showing promise. Technology has been added too. Recently, livestock fairs were held in Dhaka and across the country, and a Cattle Expo in Chattogram. Behind these events, young people have raised dreams, potential and hopes of implementation.
