A knife attack took place in Annecy, a city in south-eastern France. At least seven people were injured, six of them children, and three of the children are in a very critical condition. The attack happened on Thursday (8 June) in an open square in Annecy.

More than 30 Chinese warplanes have entered Taiwan's airspace. The island's defence ministry said the aircraft entered Taiwan's air defence zone one after another within about six hours. China has always claimed Taiwan as part of its territory.
