Police from Gangarampur and Tapan police stations in West Bengal have recovered 12 camels. No one involved has yet been detained, and police at the two stations are investigating where the camels came from, how they got there and who owns them.

On 12 November, Gangarampur police raided the Ratanpur area on a tip-off and recovered the camels from a forest. They were then taken to the Ratanpur camp.

Separately, Tapan police raided the Aihara area of Rampara Chanchra on a tip-off and recovered two more camels there.
