Organisations interested in taking part as volunteers in the "25 crore trees in five years" programme, part of the government's election pledge, have been invited to come forward.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change announced this in a press release on Tuesday, 21 April.

The release asked volunteer organisations with the following qualifications to submit concept papers under the programme:

• Social organisations, autonomous or private institutions and NGOs with previous experience of planting and caring for trees.
• Organisations skilled in building GIS remote-sensing integrated web-map-based and app dashboards to monitor the planting work.

Interested organisations have been asked to send their concept papers by email by 25 April.
