Ten venomous snake hatchlings have been recovered from under a bed in a room of the house of a man named Sajjak Hossain in Jhikargachha, Jashore.

The incident took place on the evening of Wednesday, 30 June, in Borpodaulia village of Shankarpur union in the upazila.

Sajjak Hossain said that on Wednesday afternoon his wife saw a snake hatchling on the floor of the house and killed it. After dusk the family saw another one. A hole was then found under the bed, and with the help of local people it was dug up and 10 venomous snake hatchlings were recovered.

Local villager Tushar said: "News of the snakes spread around the area in no time, and people of all ages crowded into the house. The snake hatchlings that were recovered have been killed."
